Planning to move? So many people are making this decision this year. Though your reasons for moving can be any, a recent survey predicted that nearly 58% of people do it for a job. Though moving is beneficial and provides you with a fresh start on life, the majority of people find it difficult. As claimed by another survey, nearly 83% of people find the job of packing to be the most difficult phase of the moving process.
Packing is not only stressful it can be expensive as well. So how do you make it easier? Here is what the pros advise:
Remove all the junk
According to a home staging expert, the first part of packing is to get rid of all the junk. Sort through all your belongings and remove the items that you do not need any more. You can give them to your friends or family, donate them to charity or to a thrift store or you sell them off at a garage sale. If you want to make a little money off your items, you can sell them at a consignment store.
Label the boxes properly
Labeling the boxes is a really important part of packing. Avoiding it will make your packing easier, but it will make your unpacking twice as difficult. As such, you should properly label all your boxes. Keep in mind that the more detailed you are right now; the easier unpacking in your new home will be later.
Use free boxes
You can use boxes that are available through professional moving companies; they are sturdy, durable and can bear excessive weights because they are made of strong cardboard. There is just one problem with them, they are available for a price, and the overall expenses can add up significantly.
Instead of using these boxes, you can utilize free boxes. If any of your friends or family has moved in the past, they may be able to supply you with these or you could contact your local grocery store.
Do the packing yourself
Nearly 23% of people who move appoint professional moving companies to do their packing. This is a really easy option, but nothing easy comes for free. You will just be adding an unnecessary amount to your budget.
So try out these tips, and make your packing and unpacking easier and more manageable. Good luck.
